Alternately titled "Monument to Failure", I made this work after extensive research into the nature of objects superseding their structural limits (I backed my car into old steel lockers). In Washington DC, there are a great many monuments to "winning" and "success" (mostly in the shape of stone phalluses), this was the idea of a monument to "losing".

This triptych was seen as a re-building of a pile of rubble in that its creation, by necessity, entailed a layering of the charcoal from back to front and from nothing to something, as if rebuilding the parts of the pile or un-doing destruction; thus, Destruction/Construction
